At First I was Hurt by the Mean Comments
Then I realized what it was accomplishing.
I love standup comedy, though it is tricky to do as a single mom because I can’t travel as much as I would otherwise like to. To combat that I’ve been posting more of my comedy online, so I can still find new fans and grow without so much travel.
In addition to video clips, I’ve been posting a lot to a subreddit called Standupshots, where you post a joke over a picture of yourself.
I have a weird sense of humor, so for a couple of them I posted ones that clearly do not work in a still image format.
The comments spilled in, assuming I was an idiot. Why would I post an image of a joke, where the punchline is what I sound like.
This one cracked me up, because it’s a physical comedy bit where you can’t see the physical comedy. But the mean comments rolled in with this one too. How could I be so dumb to post a physical comedy bit as a still image?!
