Is our target audience essentially other writers?

How many questions can I ask in a row?

I really enjoy the setup of Medium.

I like that there’s no ads. That feels really special and something that I wouldn’t want to change. Ads are everywhere, but this is a safe place away from them.

I like the community and getting to read such a wide variety of articles while knowing I’m at least in small part supporting the authors.

I like writing and making even small amounts of money. (I’ve made over a $1 two months in a row now, which is exciting and new for me!)

I’m very curious though, how many non-writers use Medium. Just to read. There’s lots of good stuff to read, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s quite a few. But I don’t know how to know they’re there really.

It reminds me of comedy competitions where you have to pay an entry fee and then if you win you get prize money, which amounts to less than everyone’s entry fee. Competing is fun anyway, even if you don’t win. It’s a fun learning experience.

Same with writing articles on Medium. It’s fun even if you don’t “win.”
