I Don’t Like To Create Jobs I Wouldn’t Want To Do
I get lots of ads for home cleaning services, but I never use them. I’d feel bad having someone over to clean up my messes. I wouldn’t want to go clean up someone else’s messes, especially not for the typical wages that home cleaners earn.
If I was injured or had a health issue that made cleaning difficult or impossible I’d probably be a little more willing. I’d also be more into being paid to clean someone’s house if they were truly unable to do it themselves.
But I am able to clean my own messes. I can also accept that with two young children my home will not be sparkling clean all the time.
My home definitely appears lived in, even after I’ve tidied up in preparation for guests to come over. And that’s okay.
I briefly had a house with a large yard, while I was pregnant and my children were even younger, so doing yard work was difficult. So I paid people to come mow the lawn and do basic yard care. I didn’t like it. That type of work is exhausting and it’s outside and it’s not a ton of money.
I enjoy doing occasional yard work, but I would not want that as my full time job.
Among other things this is why I opted to sell the house and move to an apartment, where there was no yard work. But someone is still mowing that lawn and I…
