I like this about apartments as well! I'm a single mom and my apartment is right next to the mailboxes in our building. Gets a little noisy, but I like knowing that in an emergency I could open the door and yell for help and chances are someone would be within easy earshot.

I'm not so into them anyone but I used to watch a lot of murder documentaries. When I briefly lived high up in a high rise it dawned on me that I don't think any of the murders from any of the shows I watched happened in a high rise.
