I was inspired by Michelle Teheux’s article about words to write my own. Though mine is a little different than hers because mine is about spoken words rather than written. More about sound and ease of saying.

Words I think are fun to say:

  1. Rubbish — Best word. Sadly I’m not British.
  2. Hubbub
  3. Squish — I love words that sounds like what they represent.
  4. Portugal — Sadly I am also not Portuguese(which is also fun to say.)
  5. Beluga
  6. Nautical — Brings to mind Spongebob Squarepants.
  7. Y’all — Includes everyone and is fun to say.
  8. Gazebo
  9. Curmudgeon
  10. Moot

Words I don’t like to say:

  1. Sixth — Sixth grade was awful for this reason. Everyone asks you what grade you’re in!
  2. Froth — Such a weird mouth shape you have to make to say that word.
  3. Astigmatism — Sounds overly fancy and smart, but it starts with ass.
  4. Rural
  5. Espresso — I always want to say expresso instead.
  6. Lisp
  7. Orifice
  8. Err — Ironically most people mispronounce it.
  9. Salmon — Why is there an L?!
  10. February

Feel free to add yours in the comments.
