My Review of Toddler Shows about Trucks

Sometimes you just need to take a nap or poop in peace and the way to do that with a toddler who loves trucks is to let them watch a show about trucks. Here are my thoughts on the ones I’ve seen so far. Feel free to comment about your thoughts on these or other ones.

Blippi

Don’t let your kid research the actor on their own. Not all of his stuff is kid appropriate to say the least, but his kids’ shows are quite fun. They’re a fun mix of original songs, goofiness, and learning about trucks and other interesting topics for young kids. He also dances a lot. The excavator song frequently gets stuck in my head. I was initially turned off by the fake high voice he uses, but he doesn’t do that in all of the videos.

Gecko’s Garage

Good for making your kid say certain words like “garage” with a British accent. Some of the songs are a bit nauseating but kiddo enjoys them and I can sleep through them well enough.

One of my goals when I became a parent was to never expose my children to the Baby Shark song, but this show has a version of that song that also involves trucks. I’m just glad he hasn’t gotten super into it. If you have a similar no Baby Shark policy be wary of this show.

The trucks all have names that match with the first letter of that truck and…
