Society Would Function Better if Everyone Could Follow Their Passion
Our society isn’t set up for people to follow their passion, unless their passion happens to be working retail or something of that ilk. Instead the majority of people have to work to make money so that they can survive, rather than following what makes them feel happy and fulfilled.
Work consumes a lot of our life and often it can end up being something we don’t really want to be doing.
It seems to me people are naturally drawn to things that have a clear benefit to society. Those are the types of jobs kids say they want when they grow up. If there was a way we could get rid of money and just let everyone do what they feel compelled to do I think everything that needed to get done would get done.
There are people who enjoy teaching and caretaking. People dream of being doctors, inventors, artists. Chefs and bakers. Gardeners. People are drawn to building and crafting things. People who enjoy thrill seeking and being heroes, who would be into stepping up in dangerous situations.
People wouldn’t have to be tied to one type of job either. Without money you could follow your interests more freely as they change. With our current system it can be difficult to switch career fields. In some cases it would require so much schooling it’d be essentially…
