You don’t necessarily have to do all the following things, but the more you can do the better.

Figure out how all the social media algorithms work

Post content that will do well in the algorithm. The algorithm that’s different for every site. What time should you post? I don’t know, but it matters so keep that in mind. The shorter the better maybe. Post stuff that people don’t want to swipe away from. What stuff is that? I don’t know. All my stuff is funny in my opinion. And don’t post too often, but also post regularly whatever that means.

Be attractive or be a regular, average looking white guy.

If you look like Mark Normand, you’ve hit the comedy lotto because people expect you to be funny. If that’s not what you look like, hopefully you’re attractive so people will pay attention to you long enough to realize you are also funny.

Crowd work

Don’t post your jokes online! Then why would people come see you live! But also why would they see you live if they don’t know what your jokes are like?! Instead ask the audience at your shows simple questions that hopefully you can come up with a clever response to and then you can post that online. And it doesn’t even matter if you can’t come up with a clever response. Just don’t…
